Avengers: Doomsday — New Trailer and a Peggy Carter Return
The panel’s centrepiece was Avengers: Doomsday, still on for December 18. Joe and Anthony Russo took the stage — they are directing both Doomsday and Secret Wars — alongside a cast lineup that included Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, and Robert Downey Jr.
The new trailer leaned heavily on Sue and Reed Richards’ relationship with Doctor Doom rather than on spectacle. Marvel also confirmed that Hayley Atwell returns as Peggy Carter, opposite Evans’ Steve Rogers.
Ryan Gosling Is Ghost Rider
Kevin Feige announced Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider in a standalone 2028 film directed by Shawn Levy, written by Jonathan Tropper. Gosling reportedly pitched the project to Marvel himself.

Black Panther 3 Sets a Date and a New Lead
Ryan Coogler returns to direct Black Panther 3, arriving December 15, 2028. David Jonsson plays T’Challa II — the son introduced at the close of Wakanda Forever. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke joined him on stage.

VisionQuest Closes the WandaVision Trilogy
VisionQuest lands on Disney+ on October 14, with Paul Bettany reprising Vision and James Spader returning as Ultron. It completes the Disney+ trilogy that began with WandaVision (2021) and continued through Agatha All Along (2024).
Its placement matters: October 14 puts it just two months before Doomsday.
What Marvel Did NOT Announce
Two absences are louder than most of what was said.
- Avengers: Secret Wars — the Russos are directing it, and that is all Marvel would confirm. No date, no footage.
- The X-Men reboot — nothing. No casting, no date, despite persistent expectation.
Both are widely expected to surface at Disney’s D23 Expo in August.
The Strategy Hiding in the Schedule
Look at the three 2026 dates in order: Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, Avengers: Endgame back in theatres on September 25, Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
That middle entry is not a victory lap. Re-releasing Endgame — the film that closed the Infinity Saga and remains the studio’s emotional high-water mark — twelve weeks before a Russo-directed Avengers film is a deliberate priming exercise. Doomsday is asking audiences to care about a multiversal roster spanning three franchises. The cheapest way to rebuild that goodwill is to put the last time it worked back on the biggest available screen first.
The second signal is the two-stage rollout. Marvel skipped Hall H entirely in 2025. Returning in 2026 with two star castings and two dated tentpoles, while withholding Secret Wars and the X-Men reboot for D23, splits the news across two events six weeks apart. Comic-Con gets the spectacle; Disney’s own convention gets the slate. That is a studio managing a scarce supply of good news, not one with more announcements than stage time.
