The Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War trailer that VIZ Media is billing as the last one dropped Friday, October 16, 2026. The 1-minute, 42-second cut leans entirely on Kurosaki Ichigo’s final battle, landing three days before episode 49 kicks off the two-episode send-off on Hulu.

It Opens Moody, Not Loud
There’s no cold open here. The trailer spends its first third on nothing but stark black-and-white title cards — the BLEACH logo, then a run of kanji chapter titles stamped over a cloaked, barely-visible silhouette, before the cards finally settle on THE CALAMITY, the official name for this fourth and final part of the series. It’s a slow, funereal build, more like a teaser for a memorial than a hype reel, and that’s clearly the point: this is a goodbye trailer, not a recruitment ad.

Then Ichigo Takes Over Completely
Once the title cards clear, the trailer is almost entirely Ichigo. He’s shown swinging a sword wrapped in gold light, backlit so hard he’s nearly a silhouette, and the editing keeps cutting back to him through bursts of pink and red energy. A text card spells it out directly: “Ichigo Kurosaki, The Final Battle,” followed by a single line of dialogue-free text, “It’s time for the end.” Nothing else in the trailer gets that kind of direct, named callout.

There’s Something in Here Nobody’s Talking About
Buried in the middle of the montage is a single shot of a dark, hulking shape covered in glowing green cracks, with thin tendrils rising off its head and clawed arms raised on either side. It’s on screen for well under a second and the trailer gives it zero context — no name, no card, nothing. None of the coverage around this trailer’s release identifies it either, and we’re not going to invent a name for something the anime itself hasn’t shown us yet.

The End Card Has the Real News
After the final title card, the trailer closes on a plain text slide with the information fans actually came for: episode 49 streams October 19 and episode 50 streams October 26, both at 8:30 a.m. PT, watched on Hulu in the US (Disney+ carries the international release). Those are the same dates the production committee announced back in September 2026, when it pushed the final two episodes back 37 days to give the animation team more time. The Calamity is adapting the closing chapters of Tite Kubo’s manga, which is why these two episodes carry so much weight.
What’s New Here
Earlier Calamity trailers, including the theatrical cut VIZ Media showed off this past summer, were built to sell the arc as a whole and spent time on the wider cast. This one strips all of that out. It’s the first trailer to use the “final battle” framing by name, the first to end on the exact October 19 and October 26 air dates rather than a vaguer release window, and the only one so narrowly focused on Ichigo that no other named character appears on screen at all.
What the Trailer Doesn’t Show
No Yhwach, shown or named outright — the closest the trailer gets is that early cloaked silhouette. No Orihime, Rukia, Uryu, Renji, or any of the rest of the cast who are still part of this fight. No actual dialogue, just score and title cards. And no explanation for that green creature. For a trailer billed as the last word before the finale, it’s remarkably tight-lipped about everyone except Ichigo.
