Overgeared / Tempal — the facts, straight from the trailer’s own credit and release-date cards.

Before the Power Fantasy, a Guy in a Hoodie

After a quick burst of action, the trailer steps into the real world: a young man in a grey hoodie at a cramped desk, a J.C.Staff/EGG FIRM logo card, and a black title card reading “何者にもなれない青年” — “a young man who can’t become anyone.” The flat, music-free framing is a deliberate contrast with the colorful game footage around it, and the clearest sign yet that the show will spend real time on his life before the game.

A Legendary Blacksmith, Reborn

Right after that, the trailer settles on a pair of hands hammering glowing metal on an anvil. That one shot is the whole premise. Overgeared follows a failed adventurer who inherits a legendary blacksmith’s gift and out-crafts the world instead of out-fighting it.

A beat later, the same hands belong to a smirking young man lit in magenta: our hero’s in-game self, reacting to whatever power he’s just discovered.

New Cast, but Who’s Who?

Later, a white-haired woman and a dark-haired man face each other in low, warm light. This looks like our first real look at one of the two supporting characters announced with the trailer: Yuki Murata as Irene and Yurika Hirayama as Isabel.

No names appear on screen, though, so the trailer doesn’t say which one she is.

Magic, Monsters and a Taste of the Action

Near the end, it’s rapid cuts between fights: a golden burst, a full-screen fire explosion, an armored brute breaking apart rubble and a glowing magic circle. There’s no telling who’s fighting whom. It’s a taste of the action, not a plot reveal.

What’s New in This Trailer

This is the anime’s third promo video, not its first look. Crunchyroll reported the second trailer on August 19, 2026, along with the October 2 premiere date, after an earlier teaser around Anime Expo in early July 2026.

So what’s new this time? Per Anime News Network’s report on the cast reveal, it’s the two new cast members (Yuki Murata as Irene, Yurika Hirayama as Isabel), the full broadcast lineup (TOKYO MX and BS11 from October 2, AT-X from October 5) and the Prime Video start date of September 27, 2026, 5 days ahead of the Japanese TV premiere. Neither earlier trailer had pinned down that schedule.

What We Still Don’t Know

There’s no word on an English dub, no subtitles for the dialogue and no character names on screen. Every who’s-who detail comes from press reporting.
