Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is getting a third season. The isekai romance franchise, which streams in the US on Crunchyroll with an English dub, confirmed Season 3 on October 25 during the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2026 online event, alongside a new teaser visual and most of its original cast and staff returning.

What Happened

The announcement landed Sunday, October 25, during Fantasia Bunko’s annual Daikanshasai livestream, the publisher event where Kadokawa reveals updates on its light novel adaptations — Anime Corner and Anime News Network both covered the reveal. A new teaser visual illustrated by character designer Kaori Yoshikawa accompanied the announcement, along with a short story intro setting up where the plot picks up. No premiere window has been set — Kadokawa said only that the anime is now in production.

Where US Fans Can Watch It

Both previous seasons of Our Last Crusade are streaming now on Crunchyroll in the US with an English dub — Season 2’s dub began streaming on Crunchyroll in 2024, following Season 1’s 2020 dub. Crunchyroll has not yet confirmed it holds Season 3, but it has carried every prior season and dub of the franchise, so it’s the most likely home for the US release once Kadokawa sets a date.

The Cast and Staff Are (Mostly) Coming Back

Yuki Inaba returns as director and series composer, with Kaori Yoshikawa back as character designer; animation production is again credited to studio palette working alongside SILVER LINK. On the voice side, Yusuke Kobayashi and Sora Amamiya return as the two leads, Iska and Aliceliese, with Nao Shiraki, Yumiri Hanamori, Shunichi Toki, Kaori Ishihara and Azumi Waki all reprising their roles from Seasons 1 and 2.

Why This Renewal Wasn’t a Given

The franchise’s track record made Sunday’s news less of a formality than most sequel announcements. Season 2 paused after its fourth episode in August 2024 and didn’t resume re-airing from episode one until April 2025, roughly 8 months later. A series that gets a third season after a production hiccup like that one is a real vote of confidence from Kadokawa in the light novels’ staying power, not an automatic next step.
