There is nowhere to stream this one yet
Digger is not on any streaming service, and no streaming date has been announced. It opens in US theaters and IMAX on October 2, 2026, and a theater is the only place to see it for now. For this film that is not a hardship. It was shot on 35mm in VistaVision, the 1950s format that runs film sideways through the camera for a larger negative, with Emmanuel Lubezki as director of photography. Warner Bros. is releasing it in IMAX, and that is the version the studio is selling.

The premise is a black comedy about the most powerful man in the world racing to prove he is humanity’s saviour before the disaster he started finishes the job. Alejandro G. Iñárritu directs from a screenplay he wrote with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris Jr. and Nicolás Giacobone. Dinelaris and Giacobone are two of his co-writers on Birdman, and Cosmo Sheldrake scores it. Tom Cruise plays the title role, unrecognisable in the trailer under the make-up, with Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons around him. At 129 minutes it is Iñárritu’s shortest feature since Birdman.

Nothing is required before it: no comic, no novel, no franchise. It is an original screenplay, from a story by Berman, Iñárritu and Jez Butterworth, and Cruise produces as well as stars. The world premiere is in London on September 22, 2026, international releases start on September 30, and the US date is October 2. Warner Bros.’ own film page and the production record are where a date change would show up first. When a streaming window is announced we will add it here, not before. If it is a Cruise film with a manga-shelf pedigree you are after, Edge of Tomorrow was adapted from the Japanese light novel All You Need Is Kill, and our report on its new anime version covers where that story went next. Everything else we track by release date is in our watch guides.
