The Big Hook: Her Cheat Skill Is Literally ‘Internet’

It starts dead serious. Text reads “その日、少女は覚醒した” (“That day, the girl awakened”), and we get a glowing eye, a magic circle, and a huge flame creature over a burning landscape. It’s the darkest 12 seconds of the trailer. Then “人智を超えた存在に—” (“to a being that transcends human wisdom—”) appears, a small figure who looks like a young Rona walks away from the flames, and the trailer swerves into comedy.

A narration card says Rona became “the world’s strongest witch,” followed by the real pitch: “SSS級のチートスキル『インターネット』を手に入れた少女!?” (“the girl who obtained the SSS-rank cheat skill, ‘Internet’?!”). Per the official synopsis, her skill looked like the weakest kind and got her exiled, but it’s actually a god-tier power that shows her a “walkthrough site” for the world.

The Best Joke: An Actual RPG Dialogue Box

Past the halfway mark, Rona suddenly becomes a top-down, 16-bit RPG sprite, complete with tile trees and a Game Boy-style border. A dialogue box asks whether to cut a patch of grass, with はい/いいえ (“Yes/No”) options. It’s the premise as a sight gag: her skill turns chores into a game with the strategy guide open.

Meet the Supporting Cast

Earlier character PVs focused on Rona. This one gives three supporting characters glitchy, holographic name cards that fit the Internet gimmick.

Elimina character reveal name card in the trailer, voiced by Fairouz Ai
Erimina, voiced by Fairouz Ai (Anime News Network spells it ‘Elimina’ in some coverage).

Erimina, billed elsewhere as the “Inferno Witch,” is mid-shout: red hair, one red eye and one green, a dark cloak, a purple fire-lit backdrop. Voiced by Fairouz Ai.

Aries character reveal name card in the trailer, voiced by Kana Hanazawa
Aries, voiced by Kana Hanazawa, in a library/harbor-style room.

Aries, reported as the “guildmaster” in earlier cast coverage, is the opposite: pale blue hair, glasses, a library-and-harbor room, and a soft, unsure look. Voiced by Kana Hanazawa.

Reinhardte character reveal name card in the trailer, voiced by Yuto Uemura
Reinhardte, voiced by Yuto Uemura, as a blond knight in a forest.

Reinhardte, the “town’s gatekeeper” per Anime News Network’s cast report, is the only confirmed male cast member so far, in white plate armor in a forest. Voiced by Yuto Uemura.

A green-eyed, elf-eared character with wings and a spear also pops up. That’s almost certainly Eruna, the elf princess voiced by Honoka Inoue per Anime News Network, since she’s the cast’s only elf, but her name never appears on screen. Ruru Ru Rie (Maria Naganawa, reported as a water dragon princess) doesn’t clearly show up at all.

So What’s New?

Pony Canyon already posted two Rona-focused character PVs (ver. 1.0 on July 24 and ver. 2.0) and an announcement teaser. This is the first to name the supporting cast, the first to reveal both theme songs (HoneyWorks and Rokudenashi), and the first to play the “Internet skill” as an actual joke.

What the Trailer Doesn’t Show

Only Rona’s narration is audible; everyone else emotes silently over music. The flame creature is never named or explained, and its link to Rona is never spelled out. And only three of the six cast members get name cards.
