Konami and Screen Burn Interactive dropped the Silent Hill: Townfall launch trailer on September 21, 2026, 3 days ahead of the game’s September 24 release on PS5 and PC. It’s a moody, mostly-wordless tour of the fictional Scottish fishing town of St. Amelia, and it’s the clearest look yet at who Simon is walking into a nightmare with.

Simon Walks Into Town Alone
The trailer opens on a man in a burgundy puffer vest and beanie, walking St. Amelia’s fogged-in streets at night. He stops and looks up at a lit sign for what reads as the Haldane Hotel, the kind of small establishing beat that tells you nothing dramatic yet — just a stranger, alone, sizing up a town he doesn’t seem to know. Everything about the framing keeps him small against the buildings. That’s Simon, the first-person protagonist Jovan Adepo plays, and the whole trailer is built around his point of view.

There’s a Second Man the Trailer Won’t Name
A few cuts later, a bald man in a dark suit sits alone in a bare, fluorescent-lit room, reading something off his phone. He’s shot cold and clinical, none of the handheld unease that follows Simon through the fog. Neither the trailer nor its title cards put a name to him.

The Hospital Beats Feel Like a Direct Silent Hill Callback
A woman in dark blue scrubs moves through a hospital corridor, seen mostly from behind and in profile, lit half in green fluorescent light and half in a wash of red. It’s a deliberate nod to the series’ history of hospital settings and nurse enemies, and the trailer plays the ambiguity straight: nothing on screen tells you yet whether she’s a person or something wearing the uniform.
St. Amelia Is Already Grieving Somebody
One of the trailer’s quietest shots is also its most unsettling: a wall built up out of the fog, covered in photographs, candles, flowers and children’s drawings, with a hand-painted banner reading “We Will Always Remember” strung across the top. It plays like a real-world memorial wall, the kind that goes up after a town loses people it can’t explain losing. The trailer never says who it’s for.

Something That Used to Be a Person
Near the end, the trailer finally shows a monster: a tall, skinless-looking humanoid figure with a smooth, featureless head, hunched against a wall in a red-lit corridor lined with what look like caged cells. It’s on screen for barely a moment, cut fast, and it’s the only creature the trailer gives a real look at — everything else stays in silhouette or out of frame entirely.

The Trailer’s Closing Card Confirms the Date and the Platforms
The trailer ends on key art of Simon holding a battered radio-like device, with the release date and platform logos laid out underneath. PlayStation, Steam and the Epic Games Store are all there. Xbox isn’t, matching what reporters had already confirmed before this trailer even dropped.

What’s New Here
This is the first Townfall trailer built entirely around Simon’s own point of view rather than cutting away to cinematic third-person shots, which lines up with reporting that the game plays entirely in first person. It’s also the first trailer to put the memorial-wall imagery and the suited stranger on screen at all — earlier marketing, including the game’s Tokyo Game Show push three days before this trailer, leaned on Simon and the town itself rather than showing other characters this directly.
What the Trailer Doesn’t Show
No dialogue is audible anywhere in the trailer, so nothing here confirms who the suited man or the nurse-uniformed woman actually are, and neither Zoe nor Richard gets an on-screen introduction by name. The monster shot is a single, brief look, with no sense of how it’s actually fought or avoided in play. And despite the platform logos on the closing card, Xbox owners still don’t have a release window of their own.
