Deadpool & Wolverine Guide: Cast, Runtime and Where to Stream

Watch the first two Deadpool films first, and nothing else

This is the third Deadpool film and the only one made at Marvel Studios, but the homework is still just the first two. Wade Wilson, Vanessa, Blind Al, Dopinder and Negasonic Teenage Warhead all carry over from Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), and the cast list above is where you can see how much of that bench came back. What it does not require is a run through recent Marvel television: the jokes point backwards, at the Fox-era X-Men films, not sideways at Disney+ series.

The commitment is one sitting. Disney+ lists the film at 2h 10m on its own page and the theatrical runtime is 128 minutes, so budget a little over two hours either way, and stay for the credits. Shawn Levy directs, taking over from Tim Miller and David Leitch, and Rob Simonsen scores it. One practical note for a household: Disney+ files this under the same account as the family catalogue but it is not a family film, and the Disney+ page’s own genre row (Super Heroes, Action and Adventure, Buddy, Comedy, Science Fiction) is cheerfully unhelpful about that. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine here is a different version of the character from the one in Logan, which is worth knowing before you try to slot it into a marathon.
