No watch order here, just a long memory you’re catching up on

Severance is a straight, linear watch, both seasons released complete rather than week to week once they finished airing, which makes it one of the easier prestige dramas to catch up on all at once. The show’s premise is simple to state and hard to stop thinking about: Lumon Industries employees undergo a surgical procedure that splits memory in two, so the self that clocks in each morning has no idea what the self that clocks out does with the rest of its life. Mark S., played by Adam Scott, runs the Macrodata Refinement team on the severed floor, and nearly everything the show reveals, it reveals to him and the audience at the same pace.

Season 1 sets the workplace mystery in motion and ends on one of the more talked-about finales of 2022; season 2 widens the show past the office and into Mark’s life outside Lumon, with a company retreat and a trip outside Lumon’s walls that neither the characters nor the audience see coming. The production record has the full cast and credits. For what’s already public about the premiere date and the production, our season 2 release coverage tracked the rollout as it happened; this guide is the one place for the whole watch, start to finish.

One practical note for anyone starting now: Apple TV+ has already renewed the show for a third season, which began filming in July 2026 with Kogonada stepping in as the new producing director, so season 2’s finale is not the end of the story.
