A fighting-game movie that finally cast the fight, not just the names
The first thing worth knowing about this Street Fighter is who is not in it: no returning cast from either of the earlier films, and no attempt to wedge a World Warrior Tournament into a grounded, movie-logic plot. Kitao Sakurai — who made his name on absurdist comedy, not action — directs from a script with horror writer Gary Dauberman and game-adaptation veteran T.J. Fixman among its credits, and the cast leans hard on performers who can actually move: two WWE stars (Cody Rhodes as Guile, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma), martial artist Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, and Ma Dong-seok — Train to Busan’s Sang-hwa — as Gouken.

Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji play Ken and Ryu, with Callina Liang as Chun-Li and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, and comedians Andrew Schulz and Eric André round out the roster as Dan Hibiki and Don Sauvage — a mix of straight action casting and stunt casting that the 1994 and 2009 films never risked. Whether that holds together is a separate question from whether it is watchable right now: it opened October 16, 2026, and as of this guide the only way to see it is a ticket.

The production record and Paramount’s own film site are where a streaming date would show up first; we will add it here the day one is set, not before. Everything else we track by release date is in our watch guides.
