The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 got its first trailer on August 27, 2026, on Netflix Anime’s YouTube channel, confirming an October 1 worldwide premiere for Studio KAI’s adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa’s manga. The 91-second trailer, titled on screen “Misaligned Feelings,” skips the recap and drops you into the mess Season 1 left behind. It even says one character’s name out loud.

What the Trailer Shows
It Starts After the Breakup
Rain over a black screen. A boy with a backpack walks away down a school hallway. Then the first line: a girl slumped against a boy by the lockers, a red umbrella on the floor, as text reads “I guess it’s over.” We’re not watching a breakup. We’re watching the aftermath.

“I’m Such an Idiot” (and a Name Slips Out)
A crying girl says “I’m such… an idiot” twice. Then a classroom placard reads “2年2組” (Class 2-2) with the caption “How am I supposed to face Yota in class?” That’s the only name in the trailer, pointing to Yota Hino, one of the two male leads on Netflix’s character list. Everyone else goes unnamed.
The Trailer Tells You Its Own Theme
Over a dark circle and drifting mist, a caption asks “What if someone you like as a friend…” A card reading “MISALIGNED FEELINGS” appears over the Japanese すれ違う心 (surechigau kokoro, literally “hearts passing each other by”), and the sentence ends: “…actually likes you romantically?” That’s the season’s question, spelled out. The rest of the trailer shows it from different characters’ sides.

Everybody’s Hurting, Not Just One Couple
The middle flips between pairs in hallways and stairwells, captioned “The pain of having mismatched feelings… is suddenly gone and left a hole” and “Is suddenly gone and left a hole.” The line plays over at least three characters’ reactions. The heartbreak belongs to the whole friend group.
One Warm Night by the Fire
For a moment, the mood lifts: five classmates at night, warmly lit, at what looks like a beach or riverside bonfire, captioned “I have no idea, not at all.” It’s the only group shot where nobody looks upset, and it’s gone in under a second.

“I’d Never Apologize for It”
A black-haired girl, not the lighter-haired girl from earlier, tells a boy by a vending machine “I’d never apologize for it.” So at least two of the female leads get big moments. Two cuts later, a boy in a yellow backpack stares at the ground and says “I was the one who pushed people away.” One refuses any blame, the other takes all of it, and they never share a shot.

The Logo, and a Date
Near the end, the logo, 氷の城壁, “THE RAMPARTS OF ICE,” holds for about seven seconds with the caption “I was lonely all along.” Then: “ONLY ON NETFLIX / OCTOBER 1” on a red-and-purple card, confirming the date right in the trailer.
So What’s New?
This is the first trailer to tie a named character (Yota) to the central conflict, and the first to put the show’s pitch on screen (“Misaligned Feelings” / “actually likes you romantically?”). Season 1’s marketing showed the four leads smiling together; this is the first time Netflix has shown the group falling apart. The bonfire scene is new too. It isn’t in either Season 1 trailer or July’s Season 2 teaser.
What the Trailer Doesn’t Show
No new characters, and nobody beyond the four leads gets a line or a clear face shot. No villain, no school event, no hint of who ends up together. Every pairing is mid-argument or mid-goodbye. And Koyuki and Miki Azumi never share a frame, even though the synopsis frames the cast as one tangled friend group.
