An “Infinity Castle” variant is not a costume swap: each one is a separate character slot with its own moveset, and in the cases of Tanjiro and Giyu the pair even share a dedicated Dual Ultimate, Torrential Twin Blades, that neither can use with their base versions. But if you were expecting seven brand-new faces, five of these are reinterpretations of fighters you already own.

There is one more wrinkle that rewards paying attention. Giyu and Shinobu’s base models were quietly re-animated for their Season 4 designs, with slightly different hairstyles and larger eyes — they are the only two playable characters in the game rebuilt that way. Their Kimetsu Academy variants still use the Season 1 look, so a single roster can hold three visually distinct versions of the same Hashira.

Muzan is free — and he is not in the pass

The most valuable character released after launch did not cost anything. Muzan Kibutsuji, the series’ final antagonist, arrived on September 18, 2025 as a free update alongside the announcement of the paid pass, as Anime News Network reported at the time.

This is worth flagging because it runs against the usual pattern. Publishers normally reserve the headline villain for the season pass; here the headline villain was the giveaway and the pass was built from Infinity Castle variants and mid-tier demons. If you own the base game and never bought DLC, you already have Muzan — and he comes with a set of exclusive interactions, including unique voice lines when he targets Tanjiro and a bespoke victory screen when Muzan and any non-Academy Tanjiro defeat one another.

Is the DLC finished? What we know about a second pass

The Infinity Castle Character Pass is complete. Doma closed it on May 28, 2026 and no eighth character has been added to it since. Buying the pass today means everything unlocks immediately, which was not true for most of its eight-month rollout.

Whether a second pass follows is a fair question and an unanswered one. The pass covers only the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy, and the story mode itself stops before the Infinity Castle arc, ending with Hashira Training. Two more films’ worth of material therefore sits unadapted. As of August 30, 2026, though, CyberConnect2 and Aniplex have announced no second character pass and no further DLC roadmap. That is an obvious commercial opportunity, not a confirmed plan, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

Which DLC characters are actually worth buying

If you want new fighters rather than new versions of old ones, Kaigaku and Doma are the two that expand the roster rather than reinterpreting it. Kaigaku gives the game a second Thunder Breathing user alongside Zenitsu, and Doma fights with the fans and ice of his Blood Demon Art. Both are characters the base game does not contain in any form.
